Connect OpenRouter

Add an OpenRouter key so CamoJet can generate the actual website copy and layout for each business.

OpenRouter is what generates the website itself — copy, layout, and content — for every business you select. CamoJet talks to whichever model you choose through one OpenRouter key, rather than wiring up a different integration for every AI provider.

Get a key

  1. Create an account at OpenRouter.
  2. Add credit to the account. OpenRouter is pay-as-you-go, billed by the model you actually use — there's no flat CamoJet fee on top of it.
  3. Create an API key from your OpenRouter dashboard.

Paste it into CamoJet

In CamoJet, go to Settings → Integrations → OpenRouter, paste the key in, click Save, then click Test connection.

Choose a model

Once the key is saved, a Model dropdown appears on the same card, listing every model your OpenRouter account can use — you don't have to wait for Test connection to pass first, though it's still worth running so you know the key actually works. Pick a model — generation won't run until one is chosen, and the Generate websites dialog will link you straight back here if you try to generate before you have.

The trade is plain: a stronger model tends to write better, more specific copy and costs more per site; a cheaper model is faster and less expensive but may need a regeneration pass with sharper instructions to get right. This isn't a one-time decision — you can change the model any time, and the new choice applies to your next batch, not to sites you've already generated.

Note

Your OpenRouter key is encrypted before it's stored and never leaves the server — CamoJet only uses it to call OpenRouter's API on your behalf.
